Prayer for CFS Chronic Fatigue Syndrome -
for Spiritual Healing, for Research, Finance, and Advocacy

Also for Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, and Fibromyalgia

This is an article of prayer for CFS Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Before I wrote these prayers, it had been rare for me to pray for specifics such as those who finance Chronic Fatigue Syndrome research, or the researchers themselves, or doctors or taxpayers. It has felt very rewarding and appropriate to do so.

It can be easy to separate our lives into what is spiritual and what isn't spiritual. Praying each prayer for CFS support has helped me in my intention to include God in all things and to see God in all people, including those that I perhaps forget to bless!

I use the term Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Please know that these prayers are also for those with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, Fibromyalgia, and other chronic illnesses with overlapping symptoms such as Lupus and Lyme disease.

Please adapt the wording as needed and open a channel through your mind and heart to allow the Love that lies behind all things to enter the world through your spiritual practice.

We pray these ME/ CFS prayers in a facebook prayer group for people with the illness. The days of the week are given for the times when we pray them in rotation. Of course that is optional!

1. SUNDAY. Prayer for spiritual healing

If you are saying a fortnight of prayers, then a suggested alternative Sunday prayer is a prayer for rest (opens on another website).

In our prayer group for people with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome on Facebook, the intention of spiritual healing is one of the most common prayer intentions.
Many people with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome are pursuing the spiritual journey.
They wish to know the peace of God, to receive God's guidance and to be a channel for His/Her love.
Amen to that.

Speak to our hearts, God.

Give us a revelation of your love.

When circumstances are difficult, let us touch the peace that passes understanding.

When circumstances are easy or joyful, let us touch the peace that passes understanding.

Make us a channel for your love.

You are in all things. We love you, and all things work together for good.

Dear God,

We pray for all those in a position to research the cause and treatment for this illness.

Put the right people in the right place.

Make connections that need to be made.

Guide the researchers' minds, hearts and hands.

Fill them with the passion to find a cause and a treatment for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Give them the financial reward they need to allow them to dedicate themselves to this work.

We see a clear and affordable diagnostic marker being identified and made available.

After appropriate testing, we see a clear and affordable treatment being made available. 

We see the results being accepted by the medical system with speed and enthusiasm.

We see celebration at the progress made.

Prayer for finance for research in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Dear God,

We ask you to guide the decision-making of those in a position to finance research into CFS.

We see the necessary money being made available.

We see research into Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ Myalgic Encephalomyelitis being financially viable and beneficial.

We bless all those who give money to this cause, no matter how small or how big the donation.

We see this blessing being returned to the contributors and investors one hundredfold, whether in financial gain or satisfaction or other blessings.

We see any financial offering of our own being used well and bringing results.

Thank you.

Prayer for CFS validation through testing being available

Dear God,

It's tough on people with ME/CFS and their carers that this illness is not validated.
If need be, let there be many diagnostic markers so that ALL subgroups of the illness  are included.

I see answers found.
I see validation given and received.

Seeing people with ME/CFS and their carers feeling validated, acknowledged.
Seeing a time of fighting for belief as OVER.
Energy can now be allocated appropriately to living well with the illness
and getting as well as possible, whatever that means for each of us.

3a. TUESDAY

Prayer for CFS - for those that run committees or are involved in CFS/ME support groups, advocacy, fundraising or events

We pray for volunteers and those on a salary who work for the CFS/ME community from their beds, homes or offices.

We pray for those leading the way in the areas of patient support and advocacy.

We see all of these people held in the Love that inspires, that strengthens, that guides.

We see the resources they need being provided - in the strength of their own bodies, in the help that comes from others and in the eloquence of their words.

We give thanks that they hear the Voice of Love.

We see held in that Love all of those with whom they need to make contact, so that a spirit of cooperation and ease is present in their interactions.

Open minds and ears to hear how to best serve those who live with this chronic illness.

Guide those who serve this community to consider their own needs for their own well-being. In their willingness to help others help them also to remember to say YES to time with you and YES to meeting their own needs.

We thank you for their commitment to serve this community.

Thank you to the Love that is. We place all things in your hands.

AMEN.

Dear God,

We place in your hands the organisations who work for the support and advocacy of people with the illness CFS /MyalgicE.

We pray that the necessary volunteers come forward.

We pray that grants and donations allow this important work to take place.

We see all those who cannot speak or write for themselves receiving advocacy to get financial and physical help as needed, as well as information for health management and treatment, and the opportunity to connect with others who understand.

AMEN

We pray for parents who advocate for their child with CFS/ME.
For partners and spouses who are advocates for a loved one with chronic illness.
For friends who step up and advocate.
For children who are young carers for their parent.

Give them the strength and encouragement to continue. AMEN

3b. Alternate TUESDAYS: Prayer for CFS - for finance for a person with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome to feel safe

We pray that people with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome get the finance they need to feel safe and to be able to maintain and improve their health.

We pray for those who are well enough to work full-time with adaptations to the work environment.
We pray for employers to make this option available, and to respond to health requirements with patience and understanding.

We pray for people with CFS/ME who are well enough to work part-time.
We pray they are able to find the option to do so.
We pray that a part-time income is sufficient for their needs or that they are able to receive additional finance.

We pray for solopreneurs and entrepreneurs who are running a business whilst living with chronic illness.
Bless them and prosper them in all their endeavours.

We pray for financial provision for those people with CFS/ME and Fibromyalgia who are not able to work.

We bless any system of social benefit.

We bless the medical insurers.

We speak honesty, integrity, job-satisfaction and good decision-making into the lives of the people who run these organisations.

We bless the taxpayers. May they feel proud of their contribution and keen to have a society which takes care of the vulnerable.

We bless the politicians. Guide them in making wise decisions about benefits.

We bless the electorate in their choice of who to vote into power.

We bless all the individuals or organisations who help someone with CFS, whether by giving time, money or thoughtfulness.

We see people with CFS, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis and Fibromyalgia feeling comfortable with receiving the financial help they need.

We see them feeling safe and cared for, with a clear sense of their dignity and their worth.

We give thanks for the Light, the Love that lies behind all things.

We hold a vision for financial provision and in this moment we rest in the knowledge that it will come to pass.

3c. Prayer for CFS - for parents and carers of those with the illness

We pray for a parent or parents of a person with CFS who are looking after a child or adult child
and taking on a caring role.

If they can work part time, we pray that the money will multiply and suffice.

If they are unable to work due to full time care needs,
we pray that benefits or other financial support will be made available.

If they have worries for the financial provision of their child after they have gone,
we place these concerns into your hands.
Bring provision to their lives and peace to their hearts.

3d. Optional. Prayer for positive outcome from benefits assessment

Dear God,

I place this upcoming assessment in your hands.

Holy Spirit go out in front and bless the assessor with discernment and wisdom.

I speak into my life/this person's life....

If I have any thought that the system is set up to be against the individual, I cast down that thought now.

God you are FOR me/this person. Who can be against me/them? NO ONE.
