Books on mind body healing often do not quote the scientific
research. I hunted down some health books written by scientists or those who collect the research.
My aim has been to find books which reference research statistics.
If you are someone who is interested in but not yet convinced by the connections between thoughts and health, beliefs and health and feelings and health, these mind body books may be of interest.

The more we accept the reality of the mind body connection, the greater our motivation to do the mind body experiment for ourselves.
I live with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for which there is currently no treatment. I take a great interest in alternative healing methods which draw on our ability to assist our body's in self healing.
These books share that same interest.

Now that I have read Healing Back Pain, I find it's not a neat fit for a book on mind body healing research.
Its emphasis is on Dr John E Sarno outlining 'beliefs' that, when shared, brought about healing for thousands of his patients with back pain.
Although it doesn't share research as such, I enjoyed the book and benefited from reading it.
It is not disputed that many hundreds of his patients experienced improvement and recovery and each one was documented through patient records. You could say that the 'patient records' are a form of research.
John Sarno is/was a qualified Doctor, and reading the book led to healing from back pain for a friend of mine.

I love the sound of "overcoming health terrorism". When looking into mind body healing there is a risk that we start to give ourselves a hard time for being ill. We tell ourselves that if only we thought the right thoughts we would be OK, and we SHOULD know how to do that already!!!
This kind of thinking really doesn't help us. I am guessing that Paul Pearsall addresses this problem and helps us to develop the self compassion we need.
When I hear someone speak on a webinar or podcast with knowledge about science and research relevant to mind body healing, I will list the book here. These books are likely to be more recently published than those above.
